Hyacinth

Wow, it has been so hot this last week that I have been feeling very lazy, but I did make time to create a Birthday card for a work collegue, which is also my inspiration project for Polkadoodles DIGI CHOOSDAY challenge.

The image I have use is 'Hyacinth' from the Darling Buds collection, I have coloured her with copics in shades of pink and teal, my favourite colour combo.



I teamed her up with one of the beautiful papers from the Helga Hippo collection.




My colleague is a girl who likes a lot of bling, so I edged the white centre chevron with sticky back gems and finally I added a mini envelope with hearts escaping.

Zodiac Sprites 2

Today I am back with the next set of Zodiac Sprites by Aurora Wings, for the new showcase today.

First up is the elegant Libra, she is coloured with Copics and mounted on Green and Teal Papers, which were left overs from a previous project, with a hand tied Green Satin bow.

I really like the next little fellow 'Scorpio', but for some reason when I was colouring him, I had a lobster in my head - hence the red/orange tones, but I think he looks super cute in these colours.

I really wasn't sure what background I wanted for little Leo, but then I remembered that I had already inked some backgrounds, so added some sparkly stars and a tiny tag, to sit my Leo on.

Some Bunny


I have a very quick and easy project to share today for my polkadoodles DIGI CHOOSDAY inspiration.

The image I have used is "Some Bunny adores you' from the Too Cute collection, I thought this would be perfect to adorn a little treat bag for a new pet.

I have coloured him with Copics and used the blender pen to dab some texture on his fur.


The bag is a design from the Silhouette store which has been cut using one of the papers from Sticks and Bones.

Finally I tied some ribbon from my stash to add a cute bow.

Little Mermaid

It's been a crazy week for me, busy at work and putting our house of the market, so it was nice to take time out to play with this adorable image from Polkadoodles for this weeks DIGI CHOOSDAY inspiration.

This is Meribelle Swishy Tail, who I have coloured in pinks and purples using my Copics.




I used a kind of fish tank Silhouette file from Sandras scrap shop and I have decorated with various sea themed dies from my stash.

Science Nerd


For this weeks DIGI CHOOSDAY project, I have made a Fathers day card for my son to give to Hubby.

The image is 'Science Nerd' from Work & Play 12.  The paper is also from this collection.



The image was coloured with Copics and then I found a Periodic tables font, which I used to spell out Dad.

Zodiac Sprites

This week I have been working on the sweetest new Showcase for Aurora Wings, three adorable Zodiac Sprites, although there are four in the new release.

First up is my star sign ARIES, this cute little ram has been coloured with Copics and the frame is cut on my Silhouette Cameo, as are all the frames on this trio of cards.

 

 Next up is TAURUS the bull, also coloured with Copics.

 
Finally CANCER, who orginally i was going to colour the conventional red/orange, but then I remembered a TV show where I had seen blue crabs, so I looked it up on google and sure enough there was a crab with blue and purple legs, so here is my little blue guy.

 

There is so much beautiful inspiration from my team mates over on the Showcase Blog, you really should take a peek, you will also find some inspiration for the fourth sprite GEMINI over there.

Good Luck


It’s time for a new DIGI CHOOSDAY DT project and this week I have made a Good Luck card/gift box.

The image I have used is Ruby from Ruby Big Value Download and coloured her with Copics.

The base is a file from the silhoutte store, which I have covered with papers from Winnie Special Moments.



I wanted to use my new Foil Quill on the design, so firstly I took some flowers from the Winnie Special Moments collection and did an inner offset on my cameo to edge in rose gold foil.


I used the same colour foil for the 'Good Luck' sentiment.

Below the surface

My son is always losing his book mark, so this week for my Polkadoodles DIGI CHOOSDAY DT inspiration I have made him yet another one, this one is supersized, so hopefully it won't get lost!!

I used the fab Rocco from Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles.


For the longest time I have wanted to try a technique with Copics I saw on Pinterest, showing how to colour underwater and thought this would be the perfect project to try it out, it did look very strange when I started, but I really like the effect now it is finished.

I used some stamps from my stash to add the fish and seaweed and finally some puffy stuff to give the froth on the waves hitting Rocco's surf board.

Fairy Toadstool


Is it Tuesday already, must be time for a new inspiration card for DIGI CHOOSDAY!!

This week I have revisited one of the first Polkadoodles images in my collection Octavia Moonfly, this sweetie is 'Wistful'.

I began by cropping and cutting my image in a circle shape, then also cut a circle in the card blank to make an aperture, this way you can see the image when the card is both open or closed.

Inside


Next I decorated the inside with some lovely papers from the Helga Hippo collection.

Once I had coloured my image with Copics, I glued her in place and stamped some dandelions and a sentiment.

For the outside I used some dies I had in my stash to cut a border for the aperture and some corners in a lovely emerald green card.

For a Man

I have such trouble creating cards for men, but this week I find myself with several male Birthdays to create for.

So I kept it simple in tones of beige and brown, with a slash of aqua.

These two cards were created with dies, my trusty cameo and a couple of embossing folders.


I used two different backing papers both from a vintage sepia 12 x12 paper pad from the works.

Flamingo


Something a bit different from me for my latest Polkadoodles DIGI CHOOSDAY DT inspiration.

I usually pick a large girly image for my cards, but this week, I have used a simple Flamingo image from Winnie in Wonderland to complement a lovely design paper from the same collection.



I used Copics in the R Family to colour him up and then covered him in clear spectrum noir sparkle pen, so he sparkles beautifully.



I layered the paper with some Doilies I found in my stash, then also added a hand tied ribbon to finish.

Tulip

For this weeks DIGI CHOOSDAY project I have created a Mothers Day card, using Tulip Darling Bud.

I started by cutting a flower stencil on my Cameo, then used Distress inks in Pink and Orange and dusted through the stencil.  I used the same colours around the edges.



The sweet Tulip Darling Bud has been coloured with Copics and finally I credited the sentiment on my Cameo too.

Duckling Sprite

It's been a while but we are back with a new showcase at AURORA WINGS with four new adorable sprites.

Unfortunately I have only had time to colour up one of theses lovelies.

Introducing DUCKLING SPRITE.


I have coloured her up with my Copics and used a mask and distress ink to create the clouds.

I had some lovely spring papers in my stash which I have used and the sentiment was created on the WRMC punch board.

Pancake Day


Whilst making my latest DT card for DIGI CHOOSDAY, all I could like about was yummy lemon and sugar pancakes, I love pancakes, so why is it that I only cook them once a year?

So here is the adorable Miss Sugarpops Pancake Heaven, with her delicious pancake stack.


She is coloured with Copics and for the background I had my first play with Brushos, which gives such a cool effect, I must play more.

Finished with a  cute sentiment for the same collection and a lemon wedge.

Love Bug

With Valentines day fast approaching, this week at Polkadoodles DIGI CHOOSDAY we are all about love and Romance.
So I have created a Valentines card for my Hubby using the sweet Lily Bug Love Heart Balloon.




i have used one of my favourite colour combos Red and Turquoise and coloured Lily Bug with my Copics.

I used Polkadoodles stitched circles die to cut a circle from the patterned paper which is from Winnie Starfish & Sandcastles.

I added a Silhouette sentiment around the edge and some die cut hearts.
