Snowflakes & Icicles

Yay, I have finally finished the last of my xmas cards and wanted to share with you some I have made using Lavinia Stamps.

I have had the lovely icicle stamp since I visited Ally Pally in April and have been dying to use it on a project, so Christmas cards were the perfect opportunity.

I stamped the Icicles and snowflakes with Tim Holtz Distress ink in 'Tumbled Glass' and also Adirondack ink in 'Stream'.

The sentiments are both from Inkylicious stamped with Black Versafine ink.

The images were then layered on blue card stock from the Paper Mill.

Finished with some blue Stickles and a hand tied bow.

Tiddly Xmas

Ha Ha my blog title doe not mean the alcohol kind of Tiddly, but the fab Tiddly Inks of course.

Their challenge this week is to create a Christmas or Winter Scene, so with this in mind I merged the lovely 'Santas helpers' with some of the Christmas elements from Make it Crafty.

She is coloured with Promarkers and the background was done with Ink dusters, Tom Holtz distress inks and a homemade mask.

The snowflakes are a mix of Lavinia and Inkylicious stamps.  I added some stickles to the snow for a little sparkle and a die cut poinsettia.

I also made a second card with slightly different colours.

Crafty Cardmakers #106 - Winter Fun

Welcome to our latest challenge, hosted by Marie who has chosen the theme 'Winter Fun'

Marie would like you to create something that portrays winter fun, but is neither Christmas nor New Year Related. In other words no Christmas cards/projects or New Year cards/projects, but some form of fun you might have during the Winter, skiing, skating, sledding for example.

I have used am image by one of this weeks sponsors The Paper Shelter for my card today called 'Fantasy on Ice'.

I merged her with a Silhouette tree I purchased from Etsy a while ago and haven't got round to using until now and a sentiment from Tiddly Inks.

She is coloured with Copics and flex markers with a little glossy accents underneath her feet to look like ice - I think you can just about see it!!

To finish I layered with LOTV papers and some pearlescent card, added a bow and some gems for sparkle.

Don't forget to pop over to my teamies blogs to check out their lovely cards and join in our latest challenge for a chance to win one of the great prizes below.

Forever Friends

Today I want to share a project that I have been working on for a couple of weeks.

I didn't know what to get my Friend for her 40th, so decided to make her a little collage, I really hope she likes it, as I am so pleased with the way it turned out.

The main image is called 'Funny Face' from Redonkadoodles and she is coloured with a mix of Copics and pro markers.

The smaller image is a stamp by LOTV and called 'Forever Friends', I used mostly flex markers for this one and added some sky and grass with ink dusters and Adirondack Ink.

The Top sentiment is freebie from the fab Gingers House - she always has such great sentiments :)

The bottom sentiment is another freebie from another great free site A Piece of Heart

Finally I used my Ink Dusters, Adirondack inks and Lavinia Fairies, the sentiment here is a stamp by Inkylicious and little bit of stickles for sparkle.

I finished off by adding some tiny roses, pearls, gems a glittery Marianne Butterfly and a hand tied bow.

Crafty Cardmakers CAS

Welcome to our latest challenge, hosted by Viv who has chosen the theme of CAS or Clean and Simple.

I found this challenge a little tricky as I love my layers and embellishments, so after 4 attempts (all fine, but they were crying out for ink or more embellishments, in my opinion) I decided this might just squeeze in under CAS.

I found a lovely card by Lindy Lou that I took my inspiration from.

I printed the flourish on my PC and added some die cut baubles by Spellbinder and a couple of hand tied bows.

I finished with a simple sentiment stamp by Inkylicious which was also cut out with a spellbinder die.

I couldn't resist adding a little distress ink around the edges and mounting it on some pearlescent blue card.

I also used this design to create some Anniversary cards as October/November seem to be the months for Wedding Anniversary's amongst my Family & Friends.  I have had a total of 7 to make, so decided to look for a really simple idea to make them in bulk.

I was really happy with them until my SIL pointed out that I had spelt 'tomorrow' wrong.  I still can't get my head around the fact I have been spelling it with a double m all these years and its wrong, I still keep doing it!!!!

Crafty Cardmakers #104 Paper Piecing

This Fortnights challenge at Crafty Cardmakers is hosted by Viv, who has chosen the theme 'Paper Piecing'

Viv would like to see something paper pieced on your project. You could, for example, paper piece a flower, part of your image such as a character's clothing, you could even paper piece an animal image for a funky look.. I am sure you can think of other ideas!

For my project i used an image by one of our sponsors Saturated Canary called 'Ava'.

I have paper pieced her dress and the balloon with some papers I printed from a Papermania CD.

I am really pleased with how she turned out, although I was so focused on the paper piecing I didn't think to colour her before hand and so some spots were a little tricky as there was clear glue there, that I couldn't colour over.

I used Copics for her hair and pro markers for the skin, boots, trousers and bow.

The flowers and leaves are a recent purchase from ebay and the dies are all Spellbinders.

We are sponsored by

Bright & Hot

This months challenge over at Lavinia Stamps is Bright Hot colours, so I decided to create something using pink and orange, which I think look fab together, I think I may need a brighter orange though!!

I used the following Adirodack Inks: Lemonade, Peach Bellini, Sunset Yellow & Raspberry.

The Orchids are stamped in Victorian pink distress ink and the stars and fairies in Purple & Black Versafine Ink.

For the 'Believe' wording I stamped with clear embossing powder, then mixed some yellow and red Mica powder with clear sparkly embossing powder and heat embossed.

I coloured the ribbon with the Raspberry and Peach Bellini Adirondack Ink and tied in a double bow.

To finish I mounted onto Orange and Pink textured card.

Challenges I would like to enter are:

Lavinia Stamps - Bright Hot Colours
Tuesday Taggers - Colour Explosion (Bright Seasonal Colours)

Crafty Cardmakers - Monochromatic Purple

The latest challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers is hosted by Fiona, who has chosen the theme of Purple.

As purple is Fiona's favourite colour, she would like to see cards/projects that are all or mostly purple. Hair/skin colours are also allowed.

Please ensure that your creation is only in shades of purple plus hair and skin colours in order to qualify for the winner or top 5 slot.

For this project I decided to try something a little different.

For a while now I have wanted to make a door hanger, but I wasn't really sure which paints to use, so after a little research I found a great tutorial on YOU TUBE, which showed how to do a crackle paint effect on a door hanger.

It was so simple and quick to do and I really want to make some more as xmas gifts.

I used Silver and purple acrylic paint to create the crackle base then brushed over some Adirondack ink in Eggplant and a little mica powder to give some areas of shine.

I then used versafine ink to stamp the fairies, stars and wording and a added a little Stickles to make it sparkle.

I cut a spellbinders butterfly and a tattered lace corner and brushed them with some ink and a little mica powder

I finished off by adding a bow, flowers and a couple of gems.

I am really happy for a first attempt and can't wait to give it another go maybe adding a digi!

Don't forget to check out my teamies blogs for some other fab projects.

Shabby Chic

Our latest challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers is hosted by BettyC, who has chosen the theme 'Shabby Chic'

BettyC would like to see any creation, scrapbook page, altered art, card that is 'shabby chic'.
This is another first for me, once again the internet provided a lot of help, but I am still not entirely sure I have captured Shabby Chic, I think maybe my image is not quite "Shabby Chic", but I did enjoy playing with all the different layers.

I gather the many distressed layers are all part of Shabby Chic, so I picked the papers and colour scheme first, which is something I usually do after I have coloured my image, I think I may change my ways, it was much easier this way.

The papers are First Edition 'Summer Breeze', which I Distressed with a Tim Holtz tool and some Distress Ink.

The image is by LOTV and is coloured with a mix of Flexmarkers, Promarkers and Copics.  I cut the image out with a Spellbinders die and added to my layers along with a memory box swirl.

All the embellies are from my stash: - Shells, Flowers, Pearls, lace and a little bronze starfish.

Foxy

The latest challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers is hosted by Jackie, who has chosen the theme 'Cute and Furry'.

Jackie would like to see the main focal point of your creation be something that is cute and furry. It can be a digi stamp, stamp, photographic image, but must have fur and be cute.

From my card I have used an adorable image by Oak Pond Creations.

I have coloured this adorable Fox using a mix of Promarkers and Copics, using flicks to try to get a fur effect.

I did the sky and grass with Adirindack Inks, I then die cut a frame and attached the negative cut over the image.

I stamped around the edge with some Leaves using Lavinia stamps vine leaves stamp, to try to give the illusion that he is sitting in the undergrowth.

I added some tiny punched butterflies and a couple of flowers made with a marriane die.

I hope you will pop along and join our Cute and Furry challenge as we have some fab sponsors.
