Desert Warrior

It's time for a new challenge over at Colour Crazy Challenge and our sponsor this time is Crafty Ribbons

The image I have used is by Molly Harrison and is a free colouring page from her site (mollyharrisonart.com).  I didn't take any notice of her name until after I had coloured her, so the colours I have used are a bit of a contrast to her name 'December Blue".

I imagined her as a kind of Arabian Warrior, hence the Red & Orange tones I have used.

I used different coloured ink sprays for the background and once dry, also gave it a quick spritz with a gold spray.  The main image is coloured with Copics.

I designed the trellis myself using Silhouette studio, I wanted her to look as though she was walking into her castle from the desert, at dusk (even though there is a moon in the image - Opps, guess it could be a sun!!)

The trellis arch on it's own looked a little bare, so I cut some urns and palm fronds to place either side

Finishing off with a hand tied organza bow and some mini pearls for stars.

Our challenges are ANYTHING GOES, so any image, any project, so long as there is some kind of colouring medium used.

  5. Oh, my gosh, so beautiful. Probably better in the warm colors you chose than in blue. I love working in the silhouette software, but never made anything so amazing as your trellis. Fantastic! Love everything about this card.

  12. Julie, what stunning card you have made with such dramatic colours. Unfortunately the challenge this month was ribbon and lace and as I can only see ribbon on your card I am having to delete your entry to the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Inspiration and Challenge Blog Monthly Challenge this month. I hope you understand. Kym (Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Design Team Leader).
