CCM #108 Black & White

This fortnights challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers is hosted by Kim , she has chosen the theme of Black and White.

Black and White will be the only colours allowed, apart from flesh colours for skin and normal hair colours, but no other colours should be visible.

I was lucky enough to get a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas and couldn't wait to use it to create a card for this challenge.

I used the 'Autumn Card Wrap' by Samantha Walker from the Silhouette store, which I cut in textured white card.

Then I did a trace and cut around the lovely 'Fairy Tenderhearted' by Tiddly Inks (This took several attempts and a couple of You tube videos, but I was so excited when it worked - lol)

I used all the shades of Cool Grey Pro-markers to colour her and a little black for depth and added some stickles to the flowers in her hair and glossy accents to the egg (not sure you can actually tell in the pic though!)

Finally I mounted her on black card and added a couple of flourishes to finish it off.

Then I had to figure out how to tie it all up without tearing it - lets just say it took a few attempts, still not entirely happy with the bow, but overall I think I have fulfilled the brief.

Don't forget to visit me teamies for some more inspiration and of course there are some lovely prizes on offer from our sponsors this week.

One Year Blogaversary

Blimey, is it really a year since I posted my first blog post!

I was lucky enough to join the fabulous Design Team at Crafty Cardmakers after my first blog and would like to say a massive thank you to Lin for having enough faith to invite me on board, I have loved every minute of it and I have learnt so many new techniques through creating for their challenges.

Also I big thank you to all my lovely team mates too, it is an honour to craft among you.

I decided to share something a little bit different with you today.  Just after Christmas I traded in my Cricut Create for a Cameo Silhouette which I have been lusting after for a while.  After checking out a few Facebook groups I kept seeing all these lovely photo traces and really wanted to give it a go.   Now I am completely hooked and obsessed with Vinyl, everything is getting 'THE VINYL TREATMENT' - lol

I used the cut and trace feature to create an image of my son Dexter, very time consuming being a newbie at it.   I really had to darken his hair otherwise it was just picking up very fine strands which would have been impossible to weed out, also there was quite a bit of erasing to clear up all the tiny marks, as this feature picks up every tiny speck.

Here is the photo that I used:

and here is the finished project:

I used a 20 x 25cm white tile from Wickes (76p) and black and silver matt vinyl

Also just noticed he is missing an eyebrow as the software just could not pick it up, but all in all I am really pleased with the result and can't wait to try some more.

I saw the lovely sentiment a couple of days ago on a Facebook site, but I can't remember which one!

Glitter & Sparkle

Wow, just realised I haven't posted since before Xmas, so here is a quick post with a present I made my niece for Christmas.

Unfortunately I didn't realise I had the 'S' upside down, when I took the photo - lol

I took some Mache letters and covered them with acrylic paint.

I then used my favourite Lavinia stamps to decorate and finally covered them in sparkle Modge Podge.

Hopefully you can see the glitter a little better here.

Snowflakes & Icicles

Yay, I have finally finished the last of my xmas cards and wanted to share with you some I have made using Lavinia Stamps.

I have had the lovely icicle stamp since I visited Ally Pally in April and have been dying to use it on a project, so Christmas cards were the perfect opportunity.

I stamped the Icicles and snowflakes with Tim Holtz Distress ink in 'Tumbled Glass' and also Adirondack ink in 'Stream'.

The sentiments are both from Inkylicious stamped with Black Versafine ink.

The images were then layered on blue card stock from the Paper Mill.

Finished with some blue Stickles and a hand tied bow.

Challenges I would like to enter are:-

Lavinia Stamps - Anything Goes
Just Inspirational - Snow

Top Tip Tuesday - Snowflakes
Card Mania - Winter Wonderland

Crafty Cardmakers #106 - Winter Fun

Welcome to our latest challenge, hosted by Marie who has chosen the theme 'Winter Fun'

Marie would like you to create something that portrays winter fun, but is neither Christmas nor New Year Related. In other words no Christmas cards/projects or New Year cards/projects, but some form of fun you might have during the Winter, skiing, skating, sledding for example.

I have used am image by one of this weeks sponsors The Paper Shelter for my card today called 'Fantasy on Ice'.

I merged her with a Silhouette tree I purchased from Etsy a while ago and haven't got round to using until now and a sentiment from Tiddly Inks.

She is coloured with Copics and flex markers with a little glossy accents underneath her feet to look like ice - I think you can just about see it!!

To finish I layered with LOTV papers and some pearlescent card, added a bow and some gems for sparkle.

Don't forget to pop over to my teamies blogs to check out their lovely cards and join in our latest challenge for a chance to win one of the great prizes below.

Forever Friends

Today I want to share a project that I have been working on for a couple of weeks.

I didn't know what to get my Friend for her 40th, so decided to make her a little collage, I really hope she likes it, as I am so pleased with the way it turned out.

The main image is called 'Funny Face' from Redonkadoodles and she is coloured with a mix of Copics and pro markers.

The smaller image is a stamp by LOTV and called 'Forever Friends', I used mostly flex markers for this one and added some sky and grass with ink dusters and Adirondack Ink.

The Top sentiment is freebie from the fab Gingers House - she always has such great sentiments :)

The bottom sentiment is another freebie from another great free site A Piece of Heart

Finally I used my Ink Dusters, Adirondack inks and Lavinia Fairies, the sentiment here is a stamp by Inkylicious and little bit of stickles for sparkle.

I finished off by adding some tiny roses, pearls, gems a glittery Marianne Butterfly and a hand tied bow.

Thanks for looking
