Digi Choosday Week 17

This week at DIGI CHOOSDAY the team were challenged with using a design sheet and I have chosen one from Work & Play 9 - Love & Kisses, to create a door hangar to give to my Brother for his honeymoon in the Summer.

I started by gluing my background paper to the MDF hangar and once dry, sanded around the edges.

The next step was to print the design sheet elements and layer them on.

I added a little strip of bling and a hand tied bow and final cut the wording in white vinyl.

Flora 2 Showcase

Mitzi at Aurora Wings is really creating some stunning images at the moment and today we have another stunner to Showcase.

Introducing FLORA 2.  She is available Here.  I have coloured her with Copics in the Cool Grey and BG families.

I decided to try and use just two colours (never done this before), I chose Grey and Teal.

My original idea was that just the large flowers would be teal and everything else Grey, but as usual with me, it just kind of evolved and I have ended up with way more Teal than planned, perhaps because it is my favourite colour.

I have made a standard easel card and decorated with some lovely papers I found in the local cheap shop.  I also covered an MDF heart with the paper.

To finish I added a double layer butterfly and some pewter liquid pearls.

Digi Choosday Week 16

It's DIGI CHOOSDAY time and this week the Design Team were challenged with making a card/project for a special Birthday.

I have four members of my family celebrating their 70th this year, so thought I would make a card for   my Husbands Auntie.

I used a paper from the Summertime Stamp Me collection for the background  and also the '70' in the centre of the circle aperture I cut.  Next I framed it with a die cut doily frame.

I then print and cut several of the flowers from the collection  and layered them around the frame and covered them with clear Spectrum Noir sparkle pen.

Finally I added an accordion butterfly in pink paper.

Blue Wedding

Today I am actually sharing a card that is not for one of my Design Teams.  A lady at work asked if I could make a wedding card, the only info she gave me was the names and light blue with a little sparkle.

So here is what I came up with.

I started by printing the sentiment onto a cornflower blue base and then cut a heart wreath and various flowers in pearlescent white card on my Cameo.

The butterfly is a tattered lace die and finally some resin flowers and gems were added to complete my card.

I think it turned out really pretty and hope the recipient likes it too.

Swings and Slides

Todays card is for the latest challenge over at Colour Crazy, where ANYTHING GOES, as long is there is some element of markers/paint/pastels/pencils on your project.

Our sponsor this week is Little Miss Muffet Stamps and I have been working with the very sweet image 'Swings and Slides Wagon'.

I stuck to just three colours, Blue, Red and Green (Hair and skin apart).  I think these bold colours are great on images of Children.

I had the hardest time coming up with a layout (always my downfall), but after much fussing around I picked a pretty blue paper and some blue glitter washi tape.  At the last minute I decided to add a banner and found a little sentiment that I think goes nicely with the image.

Digi Choosday Week 15

For todays DIGI CHOOSDAY challenge the Design Team have been busy with Easter themed projects.  I must admit to being a little stumped with this one, but after browsing my Polkadoodles images, I thought I could make something a little alternative to the usual Chicks and Bunnies.

So here is my Prehistoric Easter Chick - My egg and chick are from the Sticks and Bones Collection.

I coloured with Copics and then covered my egg with Glossy accents to give it a shell like appearance.

I then cut an Easter Basket on my Cameo and covered with some Easter papers.

Finally I put some tissue paper in the bottom, then filled with milk chocolate eggs, voila the perfect Easter present for my little boy.

Veil of Petals

There is a new Showcase up today at Aurora Wings and the stunning new image is called 

VEIL OF PETALS, you can find her HERE.

I have coloured her in shades of Purple and Pink using Copics, and a little liquid pearls on the background.

I chose two complimentary A5 pieces of card and glued them on to some thick A4 card, to create a two tone split background.

My son had previously played with my spray inks and created a lovely A3 splatter pattern of pinks, Purples and Blues and I used this to cut the oversized flower and small Butterflies.

The large Butterly is an accordion butterfly from the Silhouette store, which has been cut in blue velum and tied with wire to create the feelers.

I just love this beautiful image, it may be my new favourite and I think I may frame this one for my work room, although I am running out of wall space now!!

Digi Choosday Week 14

This week the DIGI CHOOSDAY Design Team were challenged with making a spring themed card, so I took the opportunity to make my Mums 'Mothers Day Card', which hopefully will have arrived safely in France where she now lives.

I used one of my Favourite images from the Darling Buds Collection the oh so pretty 'Dahlia'.

I picked a pretty spring paper from one of my many paper pages and then covered with a simple die cut frame.

Adding a hand tied bow and my new love 'Resin Flowers' from Rainbow Resins to complete my card.

My image is of course coloured with my trusty Copics.

Spring Sprite

It is the turn of Team Stella at Aurora Wings to host the latest challenge.

I decided to make a birthday card as there are many birthdays around easter in my Family.

I have used the cute Spring Sprite for my card and coloured her in pastel colours, with my Copics.

I chose some pale lilac card for the base and cut a blossom edge on my Cameo.

I kept if simple with just a couple of butterflies and some mini flowers.
