Mushroom Flower Sprite

Hi everyone, it's Aurora Wings Showcase time.  This little beauty is called 'Mushroom Flower Sprite' and is available in the Store today.  HERE

This little lady has been coloured with Copics, with some added liquid pearls in 'Platinum'.

I decided to go with some nice bright contrasting colours for her.

I mostly tend to stick with square 8 x 8 cards, so for a change I did a circle easel card.  The base was cut in Papermill Orange card and the layers are a paper pad given to me by my late MIL.

I also inherited the lovely Butterfly die, which is cut in pearlescent gold, using some goosebumps sparkles for the body.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the teams projects and the  current Aurora Wings Challenge - say it with Flowers, you still have a couple of days to enter.

Shy Maddie

Hi my Inky Friends, todays Inky Pinky DT inspiration is using 'Maddie Shy'.

She has been coloured using Copics and Graph-it Markers.

I tried to do a watercolour background, but I am guessing it works much better on watercolor paper?  Think I need to have a practice with this - lol.

Card Ingredients:

Card - Papermill
Patterned Paper - First edition - Up Up & Away
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Sentiment  - Silhouette Store
Ivy - Tattered Lace

Prehistoric

This weeks Polkadoodles Inky Pinky DT inspiration was created by following the latest 'Create and Learn' background class by Kit & Clowder, the image is from the Polkadoodles Sticks and Bones collection and class members can purchase the image with a discount, or why not get the whole collection, it really is fab.

For those of you that love to colour but would love to learn and improve, Kit and Clowder is a fab colouring community, created by the wonderfully talented and helpful Alyce Keegan.  There are many different classes focusing on different subjects (hair & Skin, Nature, Clothing) and there is also monthly background classes, specifically for background techniques, all at a very reasonable price for the quality and amount of information included, not to mention the one to one feedback.  There are classes for both Markers and Pencils.

Anyway, as soon as I saw the image and background being used was by Polkadoodles, I jumped right in and it was such fun to colour a background with the image, as I rarely do this for fear of ruining it.

I am so happy with the outcome, it took a good 3 hours to complete and was coloured with Copics with a couple of Promarkers to fill my missing colours.

I'm not sure what I am going to do with the finished picture, I think I may start some kind of album to put each months finished image into, so I can look back on my progress.

Thanks for looking :)

It has a been a lovely weekend, I had a nice big win on the Grand National Saturday and a fun time at the local farm/adventure play with my Hubby and Son on Sunday,  I finally got some colouring time last night.

For my Polkadoodles, Inky Pinky DT inspiration this week, I have used Serenity Earthstar.

Make a Wish

Today is the start of a new challenge by the Stella Team at the  Aurora Wings Challenge Blog, the theme this time is 'Make a Wish'.

When I think of making a wish it takes me to my childhood and blowing the seeds from a dandelion, so right off I knew I needed a dandelion on my project.  Like most little girls I also wished I could be a ballerina, now I just wish I didn't have 2 left feet and could dance, so that set the theme for me.

I have used 'Flower Ballerina' and coloured her in shades of blue with my Copics.

I layered her onto some spellbinders dies in complementary blues.

I then found a great quote from the silhouette store that I wanted to use along side my dandelion, so made an easel card, the top dark blue layer is actually embossed with roses, its a little hard to see in the photos.

First I used a metallic gel pen in my Cameo machine to sketch the dandelion and then cut the quote in Navy Vinyl and distressed the edges with adirondack stormy sky.

I used a diamonte embellishment to hold the card upright and finally added a rose and some hanging gems.

We would love to see you over at the Aurora Wings Challenge Blog, where my team mates have some lovely inspiration for you.

My Kind of Weird!

Today is my Birthday, another year older, none the wiser - lol, but tomorrow is my Hubby's Birthday, so todays Polka doodles Inky Pinky DT inspiration is his Birthday card.

I have used Science Geek, mainly because I loved one of Nikky's sentiments that came with this little guy.

To make the background, I used several different ink sprays.

I fussy cut my image on my Cameo and coloured him up with Copics.

Finally adding some Glossy Accents to the fab oversize glasses.

Thanks for stopping by
