Skating by

Yay, it's almost the weekend and time to share my Inky Pinkies inspiration card for this week.

I have had a bit of trouble with a tendon in my forearm this week, so coloring has not been so much fun, but the image I have used is.  She is from the Polkadoodles Festive Hollybobs CD, which is available here.

She has been coloured with Copics and Graph it markers, not my best colouring because of my arm, but not too shabby either - lol.

I layered her onto, one of the frosted winter backgrounds, then created the frame in the Silhouette studio.

I added various dies, which I found among my late MIL's craft stash, so not sure who they are by.

The sentiment is also from the work and play 5 - Festive Hollybobs.

Thanks for looking.

Graduation

Hi Sassy fans, this is my last post for Flashback Friday and my last post as part of the SSD design team.  My 6 month term has flown by and I have had a blast creating with these Sassy ladies.

Many thanks to Lyndsey Dyer for inviting me onto the team and my fab team-mates.

The image is called 'Sandras Graduation' and she will be available for a discounted price in the store for a short while.

I have used Copic markers to colour her and kept the design pretty simple, with just  a die cut sentiment and satin bow to embellish.

Coming up Roses

The Aurora Wings Showcase team are back this week after a little Summer break and Mitzi has given us the most beautiful Sprite to work with.

Meet 'Rose Sprite'.

I really love this image and wanted to create something a little different with her.

I created the flower pot in the Silhouette studio software and cut it out of Kraft card.

Next I went crazy and decided to crop the image 3 times, to place behind the flowerpot to look like a pot of Roses - Wow, that was a lot of Roses to colour, I think in all it took about 5 hours.

I used Copics in a mix of oranges and pinks and am really pleased with the colour I achieved.  I lightly went over the top with a pink Prisma colour pencil and also a burgundy pencil for some deeper shading.

I raided my ribbon stash and actually found a ribbon that perfectly matched the color of the Roses.

Finished off with a few gems, a tattered lace corner and a spellbinders butterfly.

I love how this card turned out and am not so sure I can part with it, although my lovely Sister does have her birthday in October and I know she would appreciate the hours spent coloring it :)

Please do go and look at the other wonderful projects on the Showcase Blog by my team mates and if you would like to buy the image it is available here.

Mitzi has also kindly given us a lovely discount code to use at the easy store this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dragonfly Dreams

For my second post of the day I would like to share with you my project for the Inky Pinkies Polkadoodles coloring group on Facebook.

I had so many ideas this week, I really wanted to use a new fairy door die I recently purchased, but nothing seemed to work, then I remembered all the lovely papers and embellishments on the recent Polkadoodles Frosted Winter collection and ended up going embellishment mad - lol

Anyway here is my finished project.

I printed her on one of the new backing papers and she has been coloured with Copics and a clear wink of Stella has been added to the wings.

I used poinsettias, hearts, holly and a snowman embellishment from the frosted winter collection.

The sentiment is LOTV and all other papers, snowflakes and embellishments are from my stash.

Thanks for looking.

Frosty Penguins

It's time to share my latest DT card for Polkadoodles Inky Pinkies and it's another Christmas card, I just can't resist the new images from the Polkadoodles Octavia frosted winter collection.

Today I have used the adorable 'Frosty Penguins'.

Image available here.

I have coloured this lovely image with Copics and used some Lavinia stamps and Tumbled Glass distress ink to create the icicle and snowflake background

Mounted onto Emerald Green card from The Paper Mill and backing paper from LOTV.

I cut a sentiment in Silver Vinyl from the Silhouette store and added to the edge.

Embellished with snowflakes by Creative Expressions and a bow I made from Glitter paper, then added a couple of sparkles to complete this card.

This really is a lovely collection and there is so much more than just the images, which I completely forgot about until after my card was finished - never mind there's always next time.

The whole collection is available in the Polkadoodles Shop.

Morning everyone, yay it's Friday, which means it is almost the weekend and also it's time for a new FBF at Sassy Studio Designs.

The image today is 'Back Pack Brandy' and she will be available at a discount for the month of September.

I decided to go with something that wasn't school related to show you a different way to use this image, so I made her into a tourist!

She has been coloured with copies and Graph-it markers.

The London images are from the silhouette store.

I created the arch and tunnel from Kraft card myself and used a tattered lace die to create a brick mask and used my distress inks on it.

Ice Wall

I am so so excited this morning to announce I am now on the Polkadoodles Inky Pinkies Design Team, which means I have an extra excuse to play with Nikky's fab images - like I needed one - lol.

So, today I have created something special to share.

This month I have been learning how to create an ice wall background with the fantastic 'Create an learn' classes at Kit & Clowder.

Alyce really knows how to put a great class together that both challenges and engages you, with fab instructions, videos and feedback.

After a few abandoned attempts I perserveered and finished the class image.  I am so glad I finished it, but of course was not totally happy and wanted to try again.

Perfect time to use one of the beautiful new Frosted Winter images by Polkadoodles.

It was a labour of love and I nearly gave up again, but here is the finished project.

The image and background was all done with Copics and a little SN Pencil on the unicorns mane and tail. I added some silver gel pen to the unicorns horn and hooves, also to the snowflakes.  I also added lots of tiny dots with a white gel pen.

I added clear wink of stella to the fur on her cloak.

The snowflake frame is from the silhouette store. I then created an offset for it distressed it with tumbled glass distress ink, which I also used on the large snowflakes.

To finish I added some gems, little snowflake sequins and tiny pearls.

I really enjoyed creating this project and think I will add it to the art wall in my craft room.

Come and see what everyone is making and join in the fun Inky Pinkies.
