Marker Storage

For months I have been searching for the perfect storage solution for my growing collection of Copic markers.

I have seen some lovely storage on pinterest, like perpspex boxes, but when I eventually found some they were £6 each, so needing 12 that would be £72.

By chance I came across a site for laser cut shapes called laser cut outs who were selling mdf boxes for £1 each. So I ordered 12 of the 100mm ones.

So for a total of £12, I now have a beautiful pen rack.

It was a fair bit of gluing, but they went together nicely and it feels very sturdy.  I added some angled bits of wood to the bottom to give it a slight tilt backwards to stop the pens falling forwards.

I couldn't just leave it there, so decided to get busy with some acrylic paint and my vast collection of Lavinia Stamps.  Then sealed with spray vanish.

Whilst I was in the mood, I also decorated some drawers on another mdc storage unit to match.

For these I glued paper to the front, sanded it down and again used my stamps.

All in all a very productive day, now onto some colouring.

Kisses

I have been busy this week, doing the latest Create & Learn background at Kit & Clowder, so I didn't think I was going to have a card ready for my GDT spot at Inky Pinkies, but then I remembered one I had made last week and not blogged.

I have used the lovely 'Kisses' by Polkadoodles from the serenity collection and also a ticket sentiment from the same collection.

She had been coloured with Copics and I have added a glitter and glue mix to the wings and skirt.

The backing paper is from 1st Edition 'animal antics'.

The lovely flower was made by my MIL before she passed away last month and I found it when we were sorting out her epic craft stash and thought it was perfect to go with this image.

How does your garden grow

Todays challenge over at Sassy Studio Designs has the theme 'How does your garden grow'.

I have used one of the recent buttercream images - Garden Party.

To really tie into the theme, I created a little garden for her, using a bendy card from the Silhouette store and decorating with vines, trees and flowers.

The image has been coloured with a mix of Copics and Graph-it markers.

Fairytale Wishes

Today I am sharing with you my latest GDT card for Inky Pinkies, using the fabulous 'Red Riding Hood'.

Once again I have been playing with my Prisma Colour pencils, boy the red was hard to shade!

A couple of days ago, I saw a fab card by one of my SSD team mates Kitty Bergenfield, who kindly sent me instructions to make my own version - I have no idea what this style is called, but I love it.

I layered the base card with a mix of red textured paper and a yellow floral from a 1st Edition paper pad.

I added some die cuts (Silhouette, Tattered Lace) and I created my own Fairytale wishes banner.

I decided to turn the main image into a tag, that slotted in the back, so it can be Kept and hung, so punched a heart shaped hole and added a recycled shimmery green organza bow.

It was a very labour intensive card, but I love the way it turned out.

The image is available here.

Thanks for looking.

For the Boys

I am back today with a new DTBST project.  Our theme over at Sassy Studio Designs is 'For the Boys'.

I decided to use the seductive 'Jessica Rabbit'.

My go to colour at the moment seems to be Red!  I have coloured the dress with Graph-it markers and the remainder of the image is Copics.

I used a black wink of stella for the gloves and shoes.

The fab sentiment is from Gingers House.

I used red card embossed with a creative expressions folder and the black and silver paper is an Anita's Christmas paper.

Keep it the Same

It's rolled around to Thursday once again, so it must be time for another DTBST - The theme this week is 'keep it the same' or Mono.

I used one of my favorite Sassys for this challenge - Katniss - Sassy on Fire and have kept to Black and red.

The dress has been coloured with Graph-it markers and the rest with Copics.

I created the frame myself in the silhouette software, using free leaf and rose clipart, all layered onto a heart embossed background.

Finished off with a large flower and some mini roses from my stash.

Ice Cream Sprite

It's time for a new release and showcase at Aurora Wings.

Have we got a treat for you, so good you could almost eat her...... It's a lovely new sprite of the Ice-Cream variety, she comes in whatever flavour you decide.

He is available here.

I decided on Banana ice-cream with a strawberry sauce, finished with some toffee pieces - hehe, maybe next time I will go for Coffee flavour.  If you head over to the Showcase Blog you can see what flavours the rest of the design team have chosen.

As usual she is coloured with Copics and also a couple of pro-markers and Graph-it pens for the red berries, which have also been covered with glossy accents.  I used some liquid pearls to make my 'toffee' pieces.

The papers and 'YUM' are from a 1st Edition Paperstack - love letters and the frame is from the Silhouette Store.

Mitzi also has a fab discount coupon for this weekend

Thanks for stopping by.

Bird of Paradise

Today I am over the moon to share my 1st card as a part of the GDT at Inky Pinkies Colouring Group, using the beautiful images by Nikky Hall of Polkadoodles.

Also, I haven't used my trusty Copics today, I tried out my new Prisma Colour Pencils and they are so lovely to use, still need a lot of practice, but overall I am happy with the way it turned out.

The image I have used is from the 'Eden Collection' - Eden Birdcage.

I loved coloring this image and really want to try again with my Copics.

The flowers are from WOC, there are a variety of dies from Memory box, Birds cards, Spellbinder.....

and I have a little punch for the tiny envelope.

The ribbon and charm are from my stash and the papers are 1st Edition - Spring Drop.

Thanks for looking and I will be back with more Polkadoodles soon.

Spirals

I have had this stunning image by Jeremiah Ketner printed and ready to color for months, but DT commitments have meant it has been left too long.

Happily I have finally got around to coloring her, after being inspired by one of the Kit & Clowder hair lessons,  dip dye hair!

I think this is such a beautiful peaceful image and I really loved bringing it to life.
She is coloured with Copics , with some added biro and a silver gel pen.

I kept to 2 colours and a fairly basic design, just a few flowers cut with a Creative Expressions die, I also used one of there large embossing folders for the background (Swirling Hearts).

Finishing off with a couple of swirls a spellbinders butterfly and some bling.
