Over at Make it Crafty, Zoe is having a Design team call for the Facebook fan page.

As ever I left it to the last minute to decide to enter, mainly due to all the fab entries that are already there, but after much indecision I have plucked up the courage.

Anyway,I decided to go out of my comfort Zone for this one and coloured up 'Anastasia', who I have long admired, but not had the courage to colour and boy she is tricky and a lot of work - but tremendous fun.

I also decided to do brunette hair, as I normally stick to lighter colours and teamed this with my two favourite colours to work with Orange and Teal.

It took most of the weekend to colour and I have only just made it before closing time!!!

I hope you like her, I know I am really pleased with the end result.

Toes in the Sand

the latest challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers is hosted by Lin, who has chosen the theme Fun in The Sun

In the hopes of encouraging the sun to shine for longer than 5 minutes, Lin would like to see something relating to the summer fun, so that might be holiday related, or something in the garden, basically something you might do outdoors when the sun is shining that's fun, clean and legal!!

I have used a gorgeous image called 'Toes in the Sand' by one of our sponsors Saturated Canary, Krista's image are always such a treat to colour.

  I coloured with promarkers and actually decided to colour in the background, which I don't normally do, now I know why, I found it so difficult to blend.  I was also trying to go for a sunkissed look, think I got more sunburnt!!!!

I framed the image with a left over negative cut (Cricut Storybook) and then mounted onto Orange Papermania card.

The surfboard was a free clipart I found, which I merged with some more clipart Palm Trees and a Hibiscus flower

The die cut seashells and Hibiscus were also cut using my Cricut 'Lifes a Beach' Cartridge.

50 Shades....

I decided to try a couple of new things this weekend.
Firstly I coloured my image using only shades of Grey, I used an image by Saturated Canary which very appropriately is called 'Grey Tie'

I also tried to do the no line technique, although I don't think I faded the lines enough in word, even so, I still found it one of the most challenging projects I have done so far and it also the longest time I have spent colouring an image.

I hope you like the results.

I used Promarkers Cool Grey 1 - 5  & Black, also Ice Grey 4 & 5 for the Tie/Panties - I couldn't resist adding a little China Blue for her eyes :)

I layered the image on some glittery silver card - both cut with Spellbinders Grand Scallop Ovals and added some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts a tiny heart hat pin and some flat backed pearls around the edge of the scalloped die.
