Red Headed Honey

I had a request from a friend this week for a girlie card, but I needed to make her a red head.

I have never done red hair before, so I grabbed all my pens and tried a few combos, then set to work.

I used the gorgeous Honey by Krista from Saturated Canary.   I decided to make her super bright and used some of my favourite Pinks & Purples to make her pop and this is the result.

I must say I am pretty pleased with how she turned out for a first attempt.

Just added this with my new camera - Much clearer.

So Much to Learn!

After watching a fantastic  You Tube Tutorial by Alyce at Kit and Clowder, I decided to have ago at the technique she used on the mermaids tail.

I chose an image from Tiddly Inks, called Mermaid Miranda, which was one of the first digis I tried to colour last year.
As you can see the results were not fantastic, very flat,  although I was very pleased with myself at the time- lol

Hopefully, you will agree that my latest attempt is an improvement!

I love they way that Alyce's Tutorial shows how to colour the tail to look like scales.

I coloured her up with my Pro Markers of which there were many!!, so I shall only give the ones I used for the hair and tail

Tail - Tropical Orchid, Pink Lobster, Fushia Pink & Pink Mittens
Hair - Sandstone, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna and Copic E31

I merged her with Make it Crafty Under the sea elements.

I cut some Cricut corners using Ornemental Iron.

I added some shells sprayed with Glitter and some glossy accents to the bubbles and a gorgeous little metal seahorse - I found these on ebay.

Now I must go and watch another one of  Alyce's Tutorials - cos there is so much to learn.

My First Blog!

Well, I have been looking at lots of lovely blogs lately and have wanted to comment or join in a challenge or two, but have found I couldn't without my own blog.

So a couple of days ago I came across http://craftycardmakers.blogspot.co.uk and read a tutorial on creating a Blog http://craftycardmakers.blogspot.co.uk and thought lets give it a go.

So here it is  Taa Daa!

Why Pumpkin Belly?  Well when I was expecting my little one, I had the hugest bump and the scans showed a little bubba with a big belly, so we named bump "My Little Pumpkin Belly", so thats the story of the name.

I also noticed that their current challenge was right up my alley, so my first card is for their Challenge - http://craftycardmakers.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/challenge-82-create-fairytale-scene.html  Create a Fairytale Scene.

I layered the lovely Vixie & Butterfly swing from http://www.makeitcrafty.com over a digital meadow silhouette, which I then changed to blue and put on a blue background.  I Coloured her up with my Pro markers - sorry I was so engrossed I didn't note which ones - I must remember to make a note in future.

I do know I used Cool Aqua, Duck Egg and Marine for the blues.

I added a sentiment from The Glitter Pot & Pearls & a Butterfly from my craft stash, then added some stickles for sparkle!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:-

Phew, here goes
