TPS Christmas Car

It's time for a new challenge over at The Paper Shelter and it is also the time of year when we start thinking about Christmas.

So with this in mind, this weeks challenge is 'Christmas Card'.

I have used the image The Most Adorable Snowmen and they are so adorable.

I started by printing my image twice and fussing cutting one copy to make a mask, this enabled me to ink my Northern lights background, without getting ink on the snowmen.

Once my sky was done, I removed the mask and coloured my image with Copics.

I felt the scene needed something a little extra, so I stamped a Christmas Tree, again masking off my main image, and added liquid pearls for baubles and a little wooden star to the top.

I created some texture to my snow using fluffy puffy stuff, which swells when you heat it.

I am looking forward to see all your Christmas Cards over on the challenge blog, where you are always in with a chance to win a prize.

Card io Christmas

After a lot of procrastinating, this weekend I finally started on my Christmas Cards using the wonderful Card-io Stamps.

I started all my cards by using either a bauble or circle mask and using Distress inks to create my take on Northern Lights, I just find them so mesmerising and would love to see them for real.

Once I was happy with the sky, I used another mask to make the snowy hills.

Finally I set to work with the Stamps using Versafine Clair ink.  I have several sets of stamps and just mixed and matched which ones I thought would look nice together.

You can't see in the photos but there is clear spectrum sparkle pen over parts of the snow that give a lovely sparkle.

Three down, a load more to go, but now I have started I want to keep going.

I have always loved to read, but nowadays it is mainly on my Kindle and no bookmark is needed, so I have made a cute girly one for my Niece.

The image I have used is Fairy Tales and she has been coloured with Copics.

I used one of the sentiments from the Silhouette store and printed onto some designer papers, which I mounted onto some Lilac card stock

TPS - Halloween

Halloween is almost here and so this weeks challenge over at The Paper Shelter is following that theme.

All the little children on our development love to go Trick or Treating and will only call at houses with a pumpkin or Halloween decorations, so this week I have made a sign to show they are welcome.

I have used a new Halloween image called A Tricky Treat.

I started by cutting a pumpkin on my Silhouette Cameo and embossed the middle portion for some texture, I also cut some flourishes to use as tendrils on the Pumpkin.

As usual I have used Copies to colour my image.

Finally I cut the words from black vinyl and adhered to the pumpkin.

We would love to see all your Halloween makes over at the challenge blog, where you can win a fab prize.

TPS - Two Colours

It's time for a brand new challenge over at The Paper Shelter and this week we would like you to use just two colours.

I knew I wanted to use my favourite combo of Pink & Turquoise.

The image I chose is The Mermaid & The Treasure  as I thought Turquoise would be great for her Tail.

It was harder than I thought to just use 2 Colours, but I managed by using Copics in the colour families RV & BG, which gave me quite a variety in Shades.

I kept the main card nice and simple as the image is so Colourful and just added a couple bow and a tiny resin Seahorse.

We would love to see your projects over at the challenge blog, where there is always a chance to win some prizes.

Thanks for looking and until next time xx

TPS Back to School

Wow, where did the Summer holidays go???

Just a couple of days until my Son starts secondary school, I think I am more anxious than he is at the moment, I don't think he realises what a big change it will be, but I am sure he will smash it.

So with that in mind our challenge over at The Paper Shelter this week is BACK TO SCHOOL.

I created my card with the new image A Lovely Girl and she is coloured with Copics.

I found some old paper that looked like some kind of school report, so I sat her on this and then layered with Green card and some Lilac and green patterned paper from my stash.

Finally I added some flowers, a star and a sentiment.

I look forward to seeing all your lovely entries for the challenge over on the Paper Shelter Challenge Blog
Where you can win some great prizes.

TPS Challenge 477 - Going Digital

Hi everyone, todays card is for the latest challenge over at The Paper Shelter, our theme this week is GOING DIGITAL, so I have used the digital image called Follow Me on Fairybook.

My image is coloured with Copics and I have used a background technique from one of the monthly classes over at Kit & Clowder, which involved drawing in and colouring the background.

My silver backing paper is actually a wallpaper sample, they make great backgrounds and you can grab them free at most DIY shops, I happen to be decorating, so I have a whole bunch of great papers I can now use.

The other papers are cutoffs from previous cards.

I finished with a matted sentiment the stamp is from Card-io.

Do come and join our weekly challenge over at The Paper Shelter,  you will have a chance to win a great prize.

TPS Challenge 475 - Things with Wing

It is time for a new challenge over at The Paper Shelter and the theme this week is THINGS WITH WINGS.

Originally I had printed a fairy image and was just about to colour her up, when I remembered the Dragon images and in particular Queen of Dragons, which reminds me of my favourite character from Game of Thrones - Daenarys Targaryen the Mother of Dragons, so I just had to swop.

My image is coloured with Copics and the background is done with a cloud stencil and distress inks.

I layered up with some papers from my stash and a dandelion die cut I already had cut.

Now its your turn, pop over to the challenge blog for lots more great inspiration from my Team Mates and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs if you win.

TPS Challenge 473 - Flowers

Hi Everyone, hope you have been enjoying the beautiful weather here in the UK.

It's so lovely to finally see the flowers start to bloom, which brings me nicely to this weeks challenge over at The Paper Shelter, which is all about Flowers.

I chose the image Incantation to work with this week, mainly because I love the background and thought it would be great for our Flowers challenge.

I tried to keep my colouring light to complement the background, which is hard for me as I sometimes go a little dark.

I used copics to colour my image and then added some pink and white flowers from my stash.

The sentiment was printed and cut using my Cameo and edged with a little copic.

I took this darker picture so you could see the sparkle on her wings for which I used a clear Spectrum Noir sparkle pen.

Now it's your turn, pop over to the challenge blog for lots of lovely inspiration from my Teamies and we would love to see your creations featuring Flowers in the challenge and you could win a great prize too.

Untiil next time, have a great week and thanks for visiting.

Dusk

Today I have been getting inky, I watched a tutorial by Tracey Dutton of Lavinia Stamps and thought would attempt a version.

I used Brushos and Distress Oxides for the background and Verafine Clair ink for the stamping, I also added a little white posca pen dotted around.  I struggled with the reflections as I was using the wrong paper and it was breaking down with the water colours I was trying to use.

My first card is using Lavinia Stamps, Wishing Tree and Toadstools.

For my second card I used Card-io stamps to create my scene.

Fairy and the Wizard

I have had several Paper Shelter images in my stash for such a long time and have never gotten around to colouring them, so due to a computer problem with work, I decided to print a few and have a play.

The card I am sharing today is an image called The Fairy and the Wizard, which I thought would be perfect for an Anniversary card for my Hubby.

The image is coloured with Copics and I added to the tree branch to make a tree as the image is so wide.

I used a mask I made on my silhouette cameo with some distress inks to create the dreamy clouds in pink and blue.

Her wings are shimmering with clear spectrum noir sparkle pen.

Finally, I matted and layered to create my card and added a stamped sentiment.

Thanks for visiting.

Time for Tea

I am sharing my second card today which is an image by The Paper Shelter called "Time for Tea", which I am entering into their Design Team Call, fingers crossed.

She is steampunk looking, but I wanted to use some Spring/Summer colours for her as Spring is almost upon us,  so went with a Pink/Green combo.

She has been coloured with Copics.

The backing paper is from Summer Breeze, with metal embellishments from my stash and a resin rose I made recently.

Thanks for looking.

Sapphire

Wow, it has been so long since I posted and quite the year.

I moved house just before lockdown to be closer to work, only to be furloughed and then made redundant. I thought with all that time on my hands I would craft endlessly, but it seems to have had the opposite effect, I have barely coloured or made cards at all.

Now I am settled in a new job and new home, my MoJo seems to have come back - Yay!!

The card I am sharing today is actually an image I coloured some time ago, but never got around to putting her on a card.

The image is "Sapphire" by Ching-Chou Kuik and she is coloured with copics in my favourite teal colours.

As I was arranging my papers and dies to complete the card, I knocked over my coffee and typically it splashed onto my image, so after a quick clean up, I had to rethink my layout to cover up the coffee stain.

So here she is :)
