Foxy

The latest challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers is hosted by Jackie, who has chosen the theme 'Cute and Furry'.

Jackie would like to see the main focal point of your creation be something that is cute and furry. It can be a digi stamp, stamp, photographic image, but must have fur and be cute.

From my card I have used an adorable image by Oak Pond Creations.

I have coloured this adorable Fox using a mix of Promarkers and Copics, using flicks to try to get a fur effect.

I did the sky and grass with Adirindack Inks, I then die cut a frame and attached the negative cut over the image.

I stamped around the edge with some Leaves using Lavinia stamps vine leaves stamp, to try to give the illusion that he is sitting in the undergrowth.

I added some tiny punched butterflies and a couple of flowers made with a marriane die.

I hope you will pop along and join our Cute and Furry challenge as we have some fab sponsors.

Make a Wish

I thought it was time to get inky again, so inspired by the DT designs at Lavinia Stamps I created a card for their latest challenge - Add a Flower.

For this project I used Ink Dusters, Adirondack Inks and Tim Holtz distress inks.

I started by laying down some Sunshine Yellow, then I went over it with Pool, which gave me a lovely green.

I stamp the fairies and creeping ivy branch in Black Versafine.  I used the weeping willow stamp around the top edge in Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters, which I also used for the mini flowers.
For Foiliage around the bottom I used grey versa fine ink.

I finished by adding some fine green glitter to the flowers to add a little sparkle.

The sentiment is an inkylicous stamp and the paper flower is a Marianne die.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #100 - Winged Things

Welcome to our latest challenge (woohoo, which happens to be our 100th), hosted by Viv ,who has chosen the theme Winged Things.

Viv would like to see Winged Things. Something with wings as a major focal point. Not a tiny butterly charm, or a small bee in the corner of an image, the wings need to be obviously part of the focal point. Fairies, angels, LARGE butterflies, birds etc. would qualify. Please check out my teamies for some more inspiration.

I have used an image by Saturated Canary called 'Sweater Socks', she is just adorable and I have  coloured her with a mix of Flex and Promarkers.

It took me a while to find a purple combination I was happy with but finally I found orchid, Wild Orchid and Purple worked nicely together, my other attempts have been binned!!!

I cut her out using a fancy blade on my trimmer and layered onto different shades of purple card, which is from The Paper Mill.

The backing paper is First edition "Spring Drop'.I added a rose from Wild Orchid Crafts and some flowers from my stash which I added gems to.
The ribbon is 2 small left over bits that I tied together.

Finally I added some swirls cut with a memory box die, and Spellbinders butterfly to which I added some pink and blue ink with my ink dusters.

Come and join in the fun at Crafty Cardmakers and you could win some of the goodies below from our sponsors.

Crafty Cardmakers - Snow & Ice

The latest challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers is hosted by Josephine, who has chosen the theme of 'Christmas Snow and Ice'.

As the hot weather draws to a close, Josephine would like to see us preparing for Winter with some Christmas Snow and Ice!

Your creation must include either a representation of snow or ice, plus a Christmas theme in order to qualify for the Winner or Top 5 slots

For my card I merged 2 digital stamps 'Jackie Frost' by Tickled Pink and A free Snowglobe by Nicola Perry

I coloured the image with a combination of Flexmarkers & pro markers in a combination of blues and lilacs.

I mixed some Frantage with glitter and melted it around the edges ( I think most of it ended up on the floor) then I cut the image out. I added a  Merry Christmas stamp by inkylicious using Black Versafine ink.

The large flourish/snowflake is a memory box die and the the smaller ones are an old punch I have.  All the gems and pearls are from my craft stash.

I coloured some ribbon with promarkers to match my colour theme and and filled a tiny glass vial (so cute from ebay) with glitter and tied it along with a metal snowflake to the edge of the card.

We are sponsored by
