Joyful

I have had so little time to colour or create over Christmas, but just wanted to share my Inky Pinkies DT project for this week, that I have just managed to complete.

Image is 'Joyful' by Polkadoodles and coloured with Copics and SN Sparkle Pen.

Hopefully there will be more time to create once the School holidays are over and I can play with all my new craft goodies.

Slinky Snowman

Just enough time for my final Christmas card of the year, it is using an image from Slinky Tart, called 'Snowman'.

I created the layout in Silhouette Studio, and used 2 different fonts for the writing.  Chantily Snow for the capitals and witchy brew for the rest, I think they go together well.

The image is coloured with Copics and I added plenty of my favorite SN sparkle pen to the white fur on her outfit.

I think you can just about see it :)

And finally I would like to wish you all a wonderful  Christmas and hope you get plenty of crafty goodies from Santa

Rudolph & Frosty

Hi everyone, I have been so short of time these last few weeks, with work and life in general, I almost forgot to make my little man a Christmas card.

So last night I grabbed a couple of images from the Polkadoodles Festive hollybobs collection and layered them onto a background from the Frosted Winter collection and voila a little scene for my little man.  It was created in Silhouette studio, which is how I also added the greeting.

So here is this weeks DT inspiration for  Inky Pinkies.

I coloured with Copics except for the red, which is Graph-it markers, I used an old piece of flannel with a little surgical spirit to dab on the reindeer for texture and added some lovely sparkles with a clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen.

Now I am off to colour something up for Hubbys card.

Polar Hugs

For my Inky Pinkies DT card today, I am using another image from the Polkadoodles 'Frosted Winter' collection, the whole collection is just beautiful and I really love colouring them, just perfect for Christmas and winter birthdays.

Today I have used Polar Family.  I started by playing around with a background idea, I was aiming for a northern lights look, not sure I achieved it, but I like the end result anyway.

I used Copics in blue, green, and pink then dripped surgical spirit using a pipette, but some of my splurges were a little big, I also dotted some silver 'Graph-it' shake.

I coloured the remainder of the image with my Copics and added my new favourite craft item, the Spectrum Noir sparkle pen over the white parts of her coat.

Look at the sparkle it give.

I added a little mistletoe die with pearls and a large handtied bow. Last minute I decided to colour up an MDF sentiment with some added sparkle.

I saw Nikky colour this image on create and craft and was inspired to add different colours to the bears to reflect the lights, I would never have tried this before, but I think it really works - Thanks Nikky Hall x

Husky Hugs

I have wanted to colour this image from the Polkadoodles Frosted Winter collection for some time, but couldn't decide on a colour scheme, but I finally took pen to paper for this weeks Inky Pinkies
DT Project.

I was going to do it all in blue, but changed my mind halfway through and added some Lilac and I am really pleased with how it turned out.

I used Copics to colour and added some texture to the jumper and hat using a technique I learnt in my Kit & Clowder backgrounds class.

I added some sparkle pen to the snow and tops of her boots.

The papers are from my stash, the bottom one is from LOTV and I have no idea about the top one :(

Rudolf

I am slowly building my stash of Christmas cards and this weeks DT project for Polkadoodles Inky Pinkies is another to add to the collection.

I used a deer image from the Frosted Winter collection.

I used a snow globe template from the Silhouette store and layered my image onto a lovely Polkadoodles paper, also from the frosted winter collection.

I have coloured with Copics and added some Stickles and Silver Graph-it Shake it.  Thanks to Nikky Hall I now know what the 'Shake-its' are for, I have 3 or 4 that I have won in challenges and never knew how to use them, Doh!!

I added an MDF sentiment coloured with a metallic pro marker, some lovely Christmas trees and a poinsettia, to finish I added a large bow to the top.

Thanks for looking.

Earthstar

I am here today with my latest card for the Inky Pinkies Facebook DT.

I have used a Polkadoodles colouring page for the background and a pre-colored image from the serenity Collection.

I really wish you could see how sparkly it is, I used copics, sparkle sakura pens and a SN sparkle pen on the wings.

Christmas Sprites Coloring Book

Such exciting news today, Aurora Wings has a new coloring book coming soon and it is full of beautiful Christmas Sprites.

There are 12 Sprites in the book, 6 of which will be exclusive for the book and not available for individual digital download.

To celebrate, there is a new Showcase today, featuring some of the new sprites.

I have chosen 'Christmas Wreath Sprite'.

I thought she would be perfect for a Christmas welcome sign in my Entrance Hall.
She is coloured with Copics and a little gold gel pen.   I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut her out.

I then got an MDF blank and painted a couple of coats of red acrylic paint and then sprayed with varnish.

I added a Vinyl sentiment and some MDF corners which have been coloured gold with a metallic pro marker pen.

Do pop along to the Showcase Blog to see some of the other Christmas Sprites brought to life by my team mates.

The book is also available for pre-order here.

Fairy Wings

Apparently Christmas is fast approaching - how did that happen - lol.

So I have used this weeks DT inspiration for Polkadoodles Inky Pinkies to add to my Christmas card stash.

I have used an image which is more associated with spring and used the colours I like best for Christmas cards, Blue, Purple and Pink.

The image is 'Eden Fairy Wings' from Polkadoodles.

I have coloured with Copics, Sukura Gel pens and the new SN Sparkle pen in clear over the wings.

The cream background is an embossing folder by Creative Expressions.

Aurora Wings Celebration

Hi everyone it's celebration time at the Aurora Wings Facebook page.

We would love for you to come and join our celebration, there are games, giveaways and this gorgeous 'Garland Sprite' Freebie, so click the link above to come and join us.

Of course it's not a celebration without some new releases and Mitzi has produced 2 fabulous new images.

The first is a 'Christmas Light Sprite' available here or here, there are some lovely samples by my teammates on the Showcase Blog, I am sure they will also pop up on the Facebook page during the celebrations.

Now for a new favorite of mine 'Mermaid and her Baby', I just loved coloring this beauty.

I used a png version and merged her onto a piece of A4 patterned blue paper, the sentiment is from the Silhouette store and also printed onto the paper.
She is coloured with a mix of Copics, Promarkers and some metallic gel pens.

I also used the new Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen on her tail, which gives a beautiful shimmer, hopefully you can see it a little in this Picture.

She is available in the Etsy Store and she also comes with a portrait version and a cropped view of the mom and baby, along with the full-body file.

You can find all the DT inspiration on the Showcase Blog.

I think you will agree that Mitzi has produced some stunning images once again.
I look forward to seeing you at the party xx

Colour Therapy

Today I wanted to share my first ever coloring page.  It is from one of the new Polkadoodles Colour Therapy books - 'Inspiring foliage' it was just 12.99 for 70 different designs in various sizes and whats great is you can print over and over again and also print it onto your pencil or marker paper.

Nikky has also just released some smaller bundles at just 2.59 for 3 different designs - great value and  a lovely way to try it out.

I used Copics, Promarkers and Gold & Silver Gel pens.

It was nice to just colour without thinking too much about shading etc

I turned this one into a wall hanging for my Sisters Birthday Gift.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hocus Pocus

I'm a day late, but I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween.

I actually finished my latest Kit & Clowder create and learn class at the beginning of the week, but only managed to add to a project this morning, so too late for Halloween, but I was so pleased with how it turned out, I wanted to share anyway.

The image is by Faery Ink and was part of the Kit and Clowder, monthly Create and Learn classes.

I Have used a mixture of Copics and pro markers for this image.

The sentiment is cut from black matt vinyl and the design is from the silhouette store.

I shall keep it somewhere safe to use next Halloween.

Here is a close up of the finished image.  I really enjoyed colouring this and highly recommend Alyces' classes, you get a written tutorial and also a video showing her coloring the image, it's great as you can rewatch, pause and download to keep forever, all for a very reasonable monthly fee.  It has really helped me improve my coloring.  Thank you Alyce x

Getting ready for Christmas

Today I am delighted to share for project as a Guest Designer for Crafting by Designs, the theme is Getting ready for Christmas'.

I have been seeing a few cards around that look like giant bows and really wanted to try this, so I found a design by Sandras Scrap Shop, she has some really beautiful designs, I must admit I purchased a couple.

There are about 10 different cut files for this card, so it was very time consuming, also I think the card I used was way too thick because it was tricky to bend, so next time I think I will use paper for the bow and just card for the base.

The papers are from Polkadoodles and the image is called 'Christmas Tree Sprite' by Aurora Wings and has been coloured with Copics and a little silver gel pen.

I added some snowflake and mistletoe die cuts, a greeting and some pearls to finish.

I am really pleased with how this turned out and will definitely try it again using paper.

Thank you so much Doris for inviting me be a Guest designer.

One of Hubby's best friends finally got to be a Daddy last week (Yay) so I had great pleasure in creating this baby card and actually getting to use one of my many LOTV stamps.

The bunting is a La-la land die and all the other cuts were made on my Silhouette Cameo.

The image has been coloured with Promarkers.

Now I'm off to make a baby girl one for a work colleague - must be baby season!!!

Wistful

I thought I would be a little daring this week and mix two bold colours Teal & Red, for my Inky Pinkies DT card.
I saw a card a year or so ago and it really stuck in my mind, but until now I haven't been brave enough to try it.

So here goes :)

The image is Octavia Moonfly Wistful by the wonderful Polkadoodles, she is available in store here.

I have coloured her with a mix of Copics and Graph-it markers and also a little pencil, then added some frontage.

I have used Spellbinders dies for the layers and large butterfly a creative expressions embossing folder and flowers die, finally a memory box butterflies die.

I coloured the wooden 'love' with Copics and added some sparkle paste.

To finish I added some sparkle gems to the flowers and pearls to the butterflies.

Serenity Resting

Phew it's been another busy week for me.  My little guy turned 6 this week and hubby and I have been busy decorating a bigger bedroom with a minion theme for part of his birthday present.

Anyway I managed to fit in my latest DT card for Polkadoodles Inky Pinkies.

I have used one of the lovely serenity fairies 'Resting' for my card.  My last DT card had a spring feel to it, so this week I have gone all Autumnal, maybe next week I will do Winter?

I coloured her with Copics and Prisma Premier pencils in Autumn shades.  She was originally printed onto a cloud background, but I changed direction and had to fussy cut her, grrr I'm really not so good at that and usually use my trusty Silhouette.

I also added some highlights in her hair with a copper gel pen.

I used a pumpkin shaped card from the Silhouette store, which I embossed with 2 different patterns and added some die cut vines and finished off with a deep red hand-tied bow.

The serenity collection is available to buy here.

Thanks for dropping in :)

Harvest Elf

Here is my 2nd big coloring project as mentioned in my previous post.

It is a fab new image by Aurora Wings, called 'Harvest Elf'.

She was such a joy to colour, using all my favorite autumn colours.

This is the image all coloured up, before I added her to my project, she is about 8" x 6", so pretty big, but there is so much detail in there, I thought it would be a shame to go any smaller.

I have used a mixture of Copics and Prisma Premier pencils for this image.

I went for a very simple design, so I could showcase the beautiful image Mitzi has created for us.

So I just added some die cut leaves I have had hanging around for ages and a spellbinder frame.

I was also, playing around with the filters on my mac, which I have not done before and accidentally changed her to black and white, but I really liked how she looked, so I saved a copy to share.

Come and check out all the lovely inspiration by my team mates over on the Showcase Blog and of course to get a copy for yourself here.

There is also a discount code available for you.

Garden of Eden

Good afternoon, just got back from my 5 month post op checkup and all is well and I have officially been discharged, so onwards and upwards :)

It is time to share this weeks DT card for the Inky Pinkies Facebook group.

I have been coloring two really gorgeous images this week, which truthfully, I completely underestimated time wise.  However the first is finished - so here is the beautiful 'Eden Butterflies' by Polkadoodles.

As I am seeing so many winter and autumn themes I am taking it back to spring, with lots of bright colors.

I have used a mix of Copics and Prisma Premier pencils on my image and finished off with a white and metallic green gel pen.

I tried to keep the layout nice and simple to let the image shine and only added a handful of flowers in the bottom corner.

The sentiment has been cut from Vinyl.

You can get this image from Polkadoodles here.

Skating by

Yay, it's almost the weekend and time to share my Inky Pinkies inspiration card for this week.

I have had a bit of trouble with a tendon in my forearm this week, so coloring has not been so much fun, but the image I have used is.  She is from the Polkadoodles Festive Hollybobs CD, which is available here.

She has been coloured with Copics and Graph it markers, not my best colouring because of my arm, but not too shabby either - lol.

I layered her onto, one of the frosted winter backgrounds, then created the frame in the Silhouette studio.

I added various dies, which I found among my late MIL's craft stash, so not sure who they are by.

The sentiment is also from the work and play 5 - Festive Hollybobs.

Thanks for looking.
