Digi Choosday Week 22

Hi Polkadoodles fans, it's Choosday, so time for a new ANYTHING GOES challenge over at DIGI CHOOSDAY.

This week we have been having a play with the very versatile Design sheets, that come with all the latest collections and also individually.

I have chosen the lovely Helga Hippo Design Sheet 13.

I wanted to try a spotlight technique that is usually seen when colouring, so I started by changing my base image to greyscale and left the circular image on the sheet in colour and enlarged to merge o er the base image.

Next I cut a whole bunch of the roses in different sizes and layered them up around Helga.

Finally I added boots & butterflies and a sweet polkadot bow.

We would love for you to share your makes with us over of the challenge blog and also the Facebook pages.  It is always so nice to see what you all do with the images.

Tandem Ride

Today is my last post for the new Polka doodles release - Winnie Special Moments.

I have coloured up a little scene using the wonderful Tandem Ride.

My image is coloured with Copics and I have also drawn in a little scene, using techniques I have learnt from the excellent on-line colouring classes at Kit & Clowder.

Once my scene was complete I wan't sure how I wanted to present it, as there is so much detail, so I went with a simple layout, incorporating the colours used in the image.

I hope you have enjoyed the new release this week as much as I have enjoyed playing with these fabulous images.

Flying a Kite

Today I have created an oversized book mark for my son, using Flying a Kite from the new Winnie Special Moments collection.

The reason I have made it oversized, is because Dexter keeps losing his bookmark for his School Book!!  Hopefully this should be easy to spot as it is 10 Inches long!!

I used one of the many papers in this collection for the background and merged on a Sentiment, hopefully it will inspire him with his reading.

He is not that keen a reader, but well above average for his age (7) and we are currently going through all the Roald Dahl books, which I have to confess to enjoying too.

I also merged the image onto the paper and coloured with Copics.

I will be back tomorrow with my final project for this launch, so stay tuned and don't forget to check out the Facebook pages.

Winnie at the Beach

Hi everyone, I hope you are enjoying the new release this week, today I have created an A4 piece, using Vacation Winnie.

This is Winnie admiring the sunset and enjoying a Pina Colada, after a beautiful day at the beach.

I took the sunset idea from a card I saw on Pinterest by Cynthia Milan.

I roughly tore several different shades of card stock and layered them onto a sheet of A4 card, to create a sunset over the sea.

For the sun, I cut a yellow circle and then used Red Pepper Adirondack ink around the edges.

Winnie is coloured with Copics and I added some Glossy Accents to her glasses to make them shine

There are so many fab images in this new collection and I will be back tomorrow, to share some more inspiration with you.

Digi Choosday Week 21

For this weeks Digi Choosday challenge, the Design Team were asked to make something using Summer Colours.

I chose to make a beach scene in shades of Orange, Yellow and Pink using an image from the fabulous Winnie Starfish & Sandcastles.

She is coloured with Copics and I cut all the elements for the scene on my Cameo.

I used sandpaper for the sand and I couldn't resist adding the little flip flops, which I have had for so long but never used.

I hope my little scene reminds you of happy times at the seaside.

Our challenges run for two weeks and are always ANYTHING GOES, if you head to the challenge blog you will also find todays discount code.

Beary Best Hugs

Today I am sharing my third make using an image from the new and fabulous Winnie Special Moments.

I have coloured up Beary Best Hugs with Copics.  .

I wanted to create a childs night light, so I grabbed a £1.00 jar I had purchased a while ago and found an appropriate sentiment to cut in Vinyl - 'DRIFT INTO DREAMLAND'.

I placed this on the outside of the jar and then filled it with fairy lights and iridescent tinsel bits and added a bow around the top.

I had a little trouble placing her, as she was larger than the jar, but I think she has turned out just fine.

I hope you are enjoying the new collection as much as I am and I will be back tomorrow with another new project using this fab collection.

We would love for you to come and share your projects with us over on the Facebook pages, using any of your Polkadoodles projects.

Tyre Swing

Hi everyone, I have the cutest image for you today from the new Winnie Special Moments collection, this one is called Tyre Swing and it is just perfect for a Childs Birthday card.

That is exactly what I have created for my lil Man to give to one of his friends on her Birthday next month, it is especially apt, as her party is at an adventure playground.

I have coloured the image with Copics, just sticking to a couple of colours - Orange, Green, Brown and Black.

I matted onto green and Brown card stock and then found a cute sentiment in the Silhouette store and cut in Orange card.

There are no embellishments on this one, as I think the image is enough.

You will find loads of beautiful inspiration on the Facebook pages this launch week, but we would especially love to see your work.

Windswept

So, today is the launch of a beautiful new Polkadoodles Winnie Collection.

There are a whole bunch of fab new images, papers, sentiments and design sheets for you to use and the team will bringing you new inspiration each day from the new collection - Winnie Special Moments

For my first project I have used Windswept.

As soon as I saw this image, I knew I wanted to create a little scene for her.  I toyed with a few card ideas, then checked out the files in my Silhouette software and came across a cute little Gypsy Caravan, which I thought would be perfect for her.

I am not normally one for 3D items, but really wanted to give it a go.

So here is my little Gypsy girl, coloured with Copics, with the wind in her hair, admiring the view from her caravan.

I have also used one of the papers from the collection to make the roof.

and a little closeup of this gorgeous girl.

Please go check out the Facebook groups this week, as there will be loads of fab inspiration for this new release all week long and LOOK a special discount too.

Digi Choosday Week 20

It's Digi Choosday, time for a new ATG challenge, if you pop over HERE, you can grab todays discount code and also enter the challenge.

This week the Design Team were challenged with using buttons on their project.  Well I have a small phobia of buttons, I don't know why, I just find them weird and I don't like to touch them (I can, I just try to avoid it!!)

So my solution was to use a button frame, cut in card on my Silhouette.

I layered the lovely Helga onto a blue background with a white sentiment, then coloured her with Copics.

Because the button frame is so prominent, I kept it simple and only added a polkadot hand tied bow.

Come on over and join in the fun for a chance to win some free Polkadoodles Digi's.

Desert Warrior

It's time for a new challenge over at Colour Crazy Challenge and our sponsor this time is Crafty Ribbons

The image I have used is by Molly Harrison and is a free colouring page from her site (mollyharrisonart.com).  I didn't take any notice of her name until after I had coloured her, so the colours I have used are a bit of a contrast to her name 'December Blue".

I imagined her as a kind of Arabian Warrior, hence the Red & Orange tones I have used.

I used different coloured ink sprays for the background and once dry, also gave it a quick spritz with a gold spray.  The main image is coloured with Copics.

I designed the trellis myself using Silhouette studio, I wanted her to look as though she was walking into her castle from the desert, at dusk (even though there is a moon in the image - Opps, guess it could be a sun!!)

The trellis arch on it's own looked a little bare, so I cut some urns and palm fronds to place either side

Finishing off with a hand tied organza bow and some mini pearls for stars.

Our challenges are ANYTHING GOES, so any image, any project, so long as there is some kind of colouring medium used.

Digi Choosday Week 19

This week at Digi Choosday we are 'Thinking about Summer', hopefully some warmer weather is on it's way here in the UK.

I have used an image from Winnie Fruit Punch called 'Treetop Fun', to make a Twisted Easel card.

I have used 'Sweet Owl' papers by first edition, sentiment by LOTV and Polkadoodles flower & leaf die cuts.

I have had the ribbon border in my stash for so long I have no idea where it is from?

I have coloured her with Copics.

So head over to the Challenge Blog to grab todays discount code and join in the fun, remember we are always ANYTHING GOES.

Frame it

It's time for a new challenge over at Aurora Wings, this time hosted by Team Stella and we want you to 'Frame It'.

I chose to colour up Columbine Sprite, I seem to have a thing about purple at the moment, perhaps it is because I am currently creating my Brothers Wedding stationery in that colour?

Anyway, she is coloured with Copics and I have cut a frame on my Silhouette Cameo in a pale blue, I also used a sentiment from Silhouette Studio.

I kept it pretty simple and just added a few flowers from my stash.

We would love to see your entries with any type of frame.
