Blooms of Ice

Earlier in the year I had the privilege of colouring up 'Snow Queen Blooms of Ice' by Aurora Wings, as part of the Showcase Team.

She has sat in my draw, waiting for me to be brave enough to make a project with her, I really didn't want to ruin the colouring by making a mess of her, so I decided to scan her and manipulate the colours to more ice blue tones and set about making a Winter/Christmas canvas.

I started by gluing the image to an A4 canvas, the pasting tissue paper around the edge.

Once dry I painted a couple of coats of Pearl white acrylic paint and sprinkled with glitter then left to dry.

It is really hard to see in the photos, but I added some blue, green and purple Kuretake Gansai water colour paint.

Finally adding embellishments, glitter and snowflakes.

I made the icicles by squeezing some regular ova glue on acetate then sprinkling with glitter, which I left to dry overnight.

I also added some chipboard letters and used a touch of liquid appliqué to create a snowy effect.

Thus is my second Aurora Wings seasonal canvas, I made an Autumn one a few months back and look forward to completing the seasons in the new year.

Thanks for looking :)
