As you read this post, I will hopefully be sunning myself in Zante, but I hope the image below is no indication of what my little boy will find in the sea!!!

I have used Rocco Swimming with Sharks from the Winnie Starfish & Sandcastles collection.

I coloured the image with Copics and the sky with Adirondack ink and added a little texture paste to the waves.

I have used a mixture of die cuts:-

Snow Queen

It's currently party time over at Aurora Wings to celebrate reaching 2,750 members, there is lots of games going on and did you see the new release yesterday?  Who doesn't love Kittys and Puppys.

Today is also the 100th post on the Showcase Blog and we have another stunning image by Mitzi for you today called Snow Queen - Blooms of Ice.

I almost didn't colour this beauty as I am flying off on my holidays tomorrow, but a few late nights and a lot of Colouring brought this beauty to life.

I am so glad I made time to colour this stunning image of Mitzi's, I used Copics in shades of Teal, Lilac, Blue, Pink and Green.  Then went over the icicles with a Spectrum Noir sparkle pen.

It is such a shame that sparkles do not photograph well, because she is very sparkly.  She will be framed and put on the wall at Xmas and probably the rest of the year too - lol.

We would love to see you come and join in the fun and games over on Facebook.

On a personal note, thank you Mitzi for giving us such beautiful images to work with xx

Aloha

It's time for a new Showcase over at Aurora Wings, with a lovely new summery image 'Beach Kitty'.

She is just adorable, relaxing on her deckchair with a Cocktail - Personally I think it's a Pina Colada!

I have cropped in close for my card, but she comes with a full beach background too.

I have coloured with Copics and a little light blue pencil on the fur.

I used some Hibiscus die cuts from the Silhouette store and also created a little "Aloha"

Don't forget to head over to the Showcase Blog to check out the lovely inspiration from the rest of the Team.

Fun in the Sun

Hooray it's Digi Choosday, time to head over to the Challenge Blog and grab todays discount code.

With all the awful weather lately I am really looking forward to my holiday to Zante in a couple of weeks and thought I would use an image for the new Winnie Starfish & Sandcastles to put me in the holiday mood!

I did a little merge of Winnie Float away and added a tiny crab and fish.

My image is coloured with Copics and I made a sky with a home made mask and Adirondack inks.  I added some homemade texture paste to the sea for sea spray.

I kept the base layer very simple to let the image shine and just added a sentiment and some seahorses from the collection and also a wave die.

We look forward to seeing your makes over on the challenge blog.

Floating Pearls

Just a quick post today to share my card for the latest challenge over at Kit & Clowder, using a beautiful image by Ching Chou Kuik, called 'Floating Pearls.

You can find her images Here

She has been coloured with Copics with Golden Sunset Nuvo glitter drops.

The background was done with Copics and blender pen, following a Kit & Clowder background tutorial.

I took a photo before I made her into a card and the colours seem a bit more true to life here, I don't know if it is because of the background but in the finished card her hair looks less green?

The die cuts are from Silhouette and Joy Crafts.

Digi Choosey - CAS

Good Morning it's Digi Choosday and time for a new challenge.  This week we want to see your CAS makes.

This is definitely something out of my comfort zone, I love embellishments and bling, but by using one of the new Polka Doodles stamp sets, I was easily able to achieve a lovely CAS card.

I have used a flower stamp from Stamp Me Summertime, some Adirondack inks and a gel pen to create my card.

I masked off the card to leave a wide diagonal space which I then dusted with ink in Lemonade, Peach Bellini and Pink Sherbet.

I then stamped the same image multiple times with Imperial Purple Versafine Ink.

One dry I spritzed with Perfect Pearls and removed the mask.

I used a copper gel pen to draw parallel lines and finally stamped with a Sentiment.

A very quick and easy CAS card.

We would love to see you over at the challenge blog, there is some fab inspiration by my Team Mates and of course a Digi Choosday discount code for Today.

My Favorite Colour

It's time for a new challenge over at Aurora Wings, it the turn of Team Stella and the theme is 'My Favourite Colour.

I have two favourite colours, which I think work perfectly together Turquoise and Green.

I thought the perfect image for this combo would have an under the sea theme, so I have used is Whimsical Seahorse.

I started by making some texture paste (glue, white acrylic paint & Talc) once I got to the right consistency I used it on a bubble mask on a flat canvas and left it to dry.

I wanted to play with my new Kuratake Watercolors, so I played around with a few different shades of blue and green, they are a lovely consistency, but i definitely need more practice with them.

I fussy cut my image and coloured with Copics.

When everything was dry I glued the image to the canvas and then stupidly went over the whole canvas with Glossy deco patch glue to seal it, not realizing that it would really dull down the colours and actually merge them a little, so I have lost a lot of definition on the colouring, still we live and learn.

I added some gems, shells and seaweed looking stems to add to the under sea look.

But did I stop there, hell no I just had to add some glitter to his wings, I really must learn that sometimes less is more!!

I am pretty pleased with my 1st attempt at mixed media, but there are certainly many things I will do differently next time.

Do pop over to the Challenge Blog and see what my Teamies have been up to.
