Recycle Something

It's time for a new challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun, this fortnight we would like you to recycle something in your project.

I started by using the discarded card insert from a box frame.

I stamped some Adirondack inks in Purple Twilight and Pink Sherbert on to my mat and spritzed with water, then rubbed my card frame around in the mix.

When it was dry I spritzed with Aegean Sea sprinky and also perfect pearls to give it a lovely shimmer.

Next I cut some white vinyl words out and adhered to the dry frame and decorated with butterflies, flowers and pearls.

Finally I added my image which is by one of our sponsors Stichy Bear the image is called 'Serenity' by Ali Peeps.  She has been colored with Copics.

Here is the final project.

Reverie

It's time for another beautiful release over at Aurora Wings Showcase Blog.

This new image is called 'Reverie' it is a beauty and comes in at 7" x 10" or 17.8 x 25.4 cm, so bigger than usual with lots of detail. I kept this image at the original size which is almost A4.

I wanted to create a kind of other worldly fantasy look and also try to keep to a limited colour palette.

I used Spectrum Noir Pencils to colour this beauty and as my favourite colour is green, I decided to use this as the dominant colour.

I used about 8 different shades of green along with some yellow, orange and peachy naturals for the main image.  I then used green, yellow and blue adirondack inks around the edge and sprinkled some cream/gold frantage around.

I really fell in love with this image and she is now framed and sitting proudly on my craft desk.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to take a peek at the lovely work by my team-mates.

There is also a 2250 members party this easter weekend, so pop along for fun, games and prizes.

Toast

Wow is it already time for a new challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun, time just seems to be moving so quickly at the moment.

Anyway, the theme this fortnight is 'Food Related'.

I have used an image by Drawn with Character - 'We go together like Peanut butter and jelly'.

I chose this image because I love peanut butter and jam on toast, but hubby thinks it is weird, so I am going to save this card for him :)

I used a file from the silhouette store to create a toast shaped card base, which I cut in a textured card stock.

I colored the image with a mix of Copics and Spectrum Noir Pencils.

Mum

Finally I can share a project I worked on a couple of weeks ago for my Mother in Laws 70th Birthday.

It wasn't meant to be quite so big, but it cut so well, I didn't want to try again :)

I cut the letters from cardstock and the detailed overlay from pearlescent paper.

I designed the letters by super-sizing my font and then filling with various files from the Silhouette store. and welding to the inside of the letters.

I added a large butterfly border across the top with mini gems on the bodies.

Next I covered 2 MDF hears in silver paper and sanded round the edges once the glue was dry to give nice smooth edges.  Once I was happy I added a sentiment cut from Vinyl.

Finished off with some little butterflies, gems and Roses.

Thanks for looking

Double Delight

So excited for release day at Aurora Wings, even more so because it is a double release - yay

Mitzi has created a beautiful new sprite - Edamame, if like me you had no idea what this is, its an immature soybean still in its pod, they look just like peas.

So here she is, coloured up with Copics.

I used various dies Tattered lace corners, nor designs fancy square and a la-la land banner.

The papers are first Edition - Spring Drop and all the flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.

I added a sentiment in vinyl, but chose the wrong colour, as it doesn't photograph well on the patterned paper.

Challenges I would like to enter:-

Fab n Funky - Spring into Colour
Scrappers Delight - Anything Goes
Whimsy Stamps - Use a Diecut
Simon says Stamp - Pinterest Spring inspiration
Die Cuttin Divas - Welcome Spring

Now for the second image, which I just love, perfect for boys cards.

It's a Pirate Mermaid - Happy dance :)

For this project I covered an MDF door hanger in paper, once the glue was dry I sanded down the edges with a sanding block.

I cut up a memory box wave die and glued around the top edge and again added a vinyl sentiment.

I colored this little guy with Copics too and added some SN Pencil over parts of the tail.

I finished off with some dew drops for bubbles and tiny gems for his jewels.

Winter Vacation

This fortnight at Open-Minded Crafting Fun our theme is 'Winter Vacation'

I got to use such a cute image by Doodle Pantry, called 'Sledding Ants', which I merged with a Winter sign from Make it Crafty.

I coloured the image with my Copics and then added some clear stickles.

The backing paper is from LOTV.  I then hand cut some cream card to look like a hill for the little guys to sled down.

The sentiment was added using my Silhouette sketch pens.

We would love to see your winter Vacation creations, so hop over and join in.

As always we have some fab sponsors.
